Emory Leeson (Dudley Moore) is a stressed-out advertising executive who sets off a company scandal with a series of unorthodox, but truthful, ad campaigns. Shipped off to a mental institution, the discredited ad-man finds understanding in a soothing psychiatrist (Mercedes Ruehl), friendship in a colorful group of inpatients, and love in a beautiful but nutty fellow resident (Daryl Hannah). What a Great Group of Guys!
I was an extra (art therapist) in this movie and got to know all of the guys. Dudley Moore was a fantasticsally talented man. The patients in the home are all so lovable. This movie got a bad rap at the time of its release. People said that it made fun of mental patients. Moy so!!!!! It gave us insigts that were valuable.
