Marvin Mange (Rob Schneider) has only one dream in life: to become a police officer, like his father. Unfortunately, Marvin's natural clumsiness and lack of self-esteem have made him the laughing stock of his police coworkers. All of that changes after a freak car accident, and a mad scientist's intervention. When Marvin regains consciousness, he can run faster, jump higher, and smell things no ordinary human should be able to smell, allowing him to perform as a top-notch cop. But Marvin's rival on the police force (John C. McGinley) is out to get him. What's worse, Marvin soon learns that he cannot handle his animal urges. Colleen Haskell from the television show SURVIVOR makes her film debut, and Schneider delivers a terrific performance in a perfect comic role. THE ANIMAL is a hilarious collection of gags and bizarre sights (including Marvin's amorous encounter with a goat) that add up to make this silly, warmhearted comedy.

Rob Schneider's Funniest Movie Ever
One of the funniest movies ever made. This is the truest example of physical comedy in its purest forms. The plot is very straight forward but has some nice twists and turns that catch the viewer off guard. This is also a magnificent date movie as well. It's laugh-out-loud, heartfelt and enjoyable. Rob's character, Marvin is highly engaging. He's the type of guy you'd want to hang out and watch the game with. If you are a fan of Rob's work, this one is a must-see and you'll be splitting your sides over it time and time again. If nothing else, the car wreck scene (one that's the most memed, by the way), is probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen. The animal transition scenes are pretty hysterical too (especially when he humps the mailbox). Sure, the humor might be a bit asinine and bawdy but it is priceless and timeless. Also the race card incidents seem *really* appropriate for this electoral year !
