I was looking for a HEPA rated dust collector that can serve multiple handheld power tools. It was between a Makita or Festool. I own a number of Makita tools so I chose Makita. I didn’t need a cordless model since I’m mostly shop-based. I was a bit surprised by its size, about 3’x2’ floor space. But it rolls easily and the hose is fairly flexible. I can roll it around my 2 car garage shop to where I need it. The automatic filter cleaner takes a little getting use to. It’s a fair loud bang every few minutes. At first I thought something was very wrong. But it’s normal. The suction can be controlled by a knob and there is a plug for your tool that will automatically turn on/off the vacuum. They say it’s quieter than other vacuums (60 decibels) but I couldn’t tell. The tools are louder anyway. As always, the connections don’t fit all tools. Adapters come with it but still not all tools. Have to make some from pvc and hose clamps. When will the industry standardize fittings? It sure would help.
