Simple to use and it really worked!

I have a two year old American Lab and she barks at everything and everyone. I've tried training classes and the water bottle with some coins in it to distract her and neither worked. I saw this product and thought, for the price, I would give it a try. Oh my gosh! One time. ONE TIME and she no longer barks. Well, she might bark a little but then looks at me and stops. The first time I used it, I pushed the on button and told her "calm down" instead of "no bark" or "quiet" in which I have been saying to her forever. I don't know what the sound is like (I sure hope it didn't hurt her ears) and it also has a flashing strobe type light. Today she didn't even bark at the mailman. She just sat on the couch, looking at him out the window. I'm amazed!

    Too strong for small dogs

It's too strong an ultrasound for my small dogs. I used it once outside on their walk when they started barking at another dog in the RV Park we live in and they refused to continue walking and if inside they try to get under something and then refuse to go outside. My smallest dog now refuses to go to the back and far side yard. It has caused more issues for "us" than we had before. It apparently does hurt their ears. It seems to be of fine quality and it's nice that it has multiple settings and the flashlight. Just wish it didn't scare my dogs and make them cower. I feel terrible for the way they look at me and tuck their tails now when it's time to go outside.

  • Unit works. Light is a nice extra. Good for walks in the neighborhood.

The unit does work. I tested it very briefly on our cat to be sure ultrasound was emitted. (Our cat is nice and I did not want to torture it.) I used it for real during an evening walk on an unleashed small dog. It did not chase it away or stop the barking, but it did keep the dog at bay, which is why I bought it. A nice feature is the built in light. It does not illuminate too much but it is visible by drivers at night. The unit is worth the money at the price, as long as it lasts a few years.

  • Great Product!!

If I need to get my toy Aussie’s attention, I just hit the button a time or two and she comes running! I was really surprised at how well it works, especially since it was so inexpensive.

  • Only a good value and quality if it works as advertised.

Our dog goes crazy when he sees the UPS & Fed-Ex trucks. Yes, he recognizes them before they pull in the driveway so the barking starts before they enter the driveway. He goes into a rage. This device does not work when he is in this rage. Item looks exactly as pictured. One for our home, and one for our RV. When he is calm we have tried it and he does recognize it because he will turn around and look at us. We only tried it like that to see if he will react. He was very calm when he turned around! We used duracell batteries. Very disappointed.

  • Not for every dog

Bought for my 1.5 yr old Australian Shepherd mix. He actually likes the strobing light and the chaser and thinks it’s a toy. He barks when I use it so it doesn’t do anything for me. I’m glad I didn’t pay $40 for it like I’ve seen on the Petfentle site. It uses a 9 volt battery which is something I don’t buy often and they’re not cheap, so that doesn’t make it very economical to me.

  • Dog Chaser

I’ve had one of these items before and it works very well on most dogs. But keep in mind that it doesn’t work on every dog but does on most. Please be respectful with Dog Chaser and not use it cruelly. Dogs are very smart and this can be a useful tool in training and/or in self defense against an aggressive dog. In training it only takes a quick press and release. The more sensitive each individual dog is will dictate the length of time to hold the button down. I have one wayward furbaby this was purchased for and when I pressed the button it affected all 3 of my dogs. It is definitely a quick attention getter.

  • Just show them the device after a week!

We love this device so far! The first couple of times we used it, my big dog was looking at me like, "How could you!" Also, like, "What is that?" He used to know if I was getting ready for work and not quite robed and standing behind the door! The first time I used this device, he reverted back to his usual way. He would look at me and turn his back as he sat down. Well, after realizing he didn't like this device and respecting it, he came without doing that! We haven't had to use treats. You just call him twice. If he doesn't come you flash the light at him and call. Doesn't come? Flash the light again. Doesn't come? Press the button (don't hold down) for the sound only he can hear (course, also our two little dogs, but hey!). At first we had to push the button twice quickly (we don't hold it down!). He now gets it! He just had to learn! Now, all we have to do is call him and show him the device and he comes!!!!! Truly amazing!!! Okay, once in a while he forgets and we just flash the light at him with no need to push the button down. Thank you as it was terrible being ignored by him!!!!! We used to have to sometimes more than I'd like to admit, go out into the yard with a leash! I have been told by friends that a lot of dogs do that. They need this device!

  • Wish I had gotten more!

We recently got a 14 month old goldendoodle who was as sweet as can be but had obviously had no behavior training before we got her. We took her to an obedience class which helped but was slow progress. When she set her mind to do something there was nothing else in the world in existence to her. We would tell her no and call her name but she just ignored us, until..... We got this pet trainer. The first time we used it, she stopped instantly, looking around, a little confused. But she stopped!! It didn't take long at all for her to learn what she could and couldn't do when we used this consistently. Now even just getting it out and her seeing it, realizing that is from what she is hearing, she immediately behaves. My only regret is not buying more of them. I need one in every room in the house and outside.
