Great for digging trenches, footings, planting. The Clamp-On Quick Spade is the perfect tool for landscaping, tree stump removal, planting, etc. The clamping system allows the quick spade combo unit to slide onto buckets with a front cutting edge up to 2" thick or 1.5" if using the clamping puck.
A great tool. Saves a lot of back breaking digging. I used it for planting trees, and it works well. I have it on a Massey Ferguson gc1723e sub compact tractor.
Some notes: Make sure the mounting surface is clean and smooth. Check the mounting bolts every time, before operating it. The bolts can loosen during use, causing the spade to loosen and fall off. Also, it is heavy. (Ask me how I know). I also mounted mine on the left side of the bucket. Two reasons for this: (1) Support from the sidewall of the bucket. (2) You have better vision of what the spade is doing. I'm not sure if this could be used commercially, but for my needs it is perfect. It also appears that you may be able to mount the spade on forks. Not sure, but when I get some, I'll update.
All in all, a good investment. I'm not young anymore, so I look for tools to do jobs that would otherwise knock me out, and not break the bank.
