  • Amazing Gitzo Traveler tripod

This is a great tripod for a average weight camera and is also great for travel due to it's compactness. I pair it with Gitzo Ball Head Series 2 , rock solid. Do utilize the column hook with extra stability. I hang a lens pouch full of pebbles for that, and it works great.

  • This one's a keeper!

Though I’ve only recently acquired the GT1545T, my initial impressions are “this is an exceptional piece of photo gear”. I have two other Gitzo leg sets, and have come to appreciate their practicality and usefulness in the field. The GT1545 is no exception. I purchased this tripod primarily because of its relative light weight, yet strong weight-bearing capacity, and plan to dedicate it for multi-row panorama photography. It easily supports my mirrorless camera and 65mm lens combo, and my pano head. I choose to unmount the camera when moving the tripod to new locations, primarily to reduce stress on the pano head. A lever-action quick release plate makes this very easy, and the tripod/pano head are of minimal difficulty to grab and carry in one hand. I generally wear a bino case for carrying the camera and lens when necessary. I won’t use this rig for much more than my aforementioned camera/ lens combo, so the lens length shouldn’t have any impact on the tripods ability to withstand tremor. When mounted on a nodal slide at the entrance pupil location, it’s nicely balanced on the GT1545. I added some pipe insulation and camouflage tape for added comfort when in hand or over the shoulder. I’d recommend this tripod to anyone looking to shave weight off their field kit. This one’s a keeper!

  • Light weight with quick setup!

I love the weight of the tripod, super light. I have put a Manfrotto Befree head weighing in at 0.8# on it keeping the setup light for this 63 year old woman. It works great with my Leica Televid 77 scope for bird watching. I can hike to the shore easier than my old setup. It’s still sturdy in the wind. If I had a complaint it would be about my setup. I can’t seem to keep the head tight on the tripod.
