This is a compressor duty Baldor motor that is designed specifically as a replacement motor for many models of Ingersoll Rand air compressors that require a 7.5 horsepower motor on a 184T frame platform. This motor is designed to meet start-up/torque requirements for air compressors, which makes it a great, heavy-duty, long-lasting motor for many other applications! This motor has a 1-1/8" keyed shaft, which is standard for a 184T frame motor. The shaft measures 3.5" long from the front face of the motor. This is a high-quality Baldor electric motor that will outperform the competition every time!.

More Power with the new motor! But of course I ordered a 7.5 H.P. The planer that we put it on called for a 5h.p.!!
Baldor electric motors are known for dependability & quality all over this part of the world. The motor was bought as a replacement motor for one on a large planer molding cutter/wood shaper, that stayed under water after a flood, & was basically abandoned for years.. After a lot of work & re-cooperating, it was the planer/molder' turn to be worked on.. We replaced the rusted & stuck pieces, & the motor was the last thing to be replaced. So we decided to step up to a 7.5 H.P. motor, & make it a more powerful machine.. We are well pleased with the performance of the new motor & the other upgrades we have done to the operation as a whole... Thanks!

Best deal in an American made 7.5 HP electric motor IMHO. Motor shop wanted 500 to 700 dollars to rewire my old one and this one cost 479.95 delivered to the door. It was a no brainer and I sold the old one on CL for 75.00 !

Quiet smoothe operation
I gave this motor four stars because it's far too early to tell if the motor will not perform up to expectations. Baldor motors are of the highest quality. I'm confident that this motor will out last the warranty, however, one cannot know until that time has passed. It is very unlikely that there should be any malfunction or trouble of any kind with this motor for many years to come.
