Interesting for history but ...
I had always heard of Damon Runyon but I'd never read any of his stuff. So I thought I would cure that deficiency in my literary exposure by reading this tome. Basically his stories are fun to read, however they are racist as hell. They can't really be taught in school today. I can now legitimately say that I have read Damon Runyon but I don't know that I'm the better for it.
