Air Raiders is a first-person air combat game in which you attempt to shoot down enemy aircraft while avoiding anti-aircraft fire. You must also keep track of the plane's fuel, ammunition, and altitude.The top portion of the screen serves as the cockpit window where you spot and target enemy planes, while the lower part of the screen is dedicated to gauges indicating fuel, ammunition, altitude, number of kills, and the plane's position in relation to flak zones. <br><br>As the player banks left and right, a marker slides back and forth on the flak bar below. When the plane enters the red portion of the bar, the player is more likely to be hit by anti-aircraft fire. Setting the left difficulty switch to "A" makes it more difficult to escape enemy flak.<br><br>You are allowed to land and refuel after you hit ten enemy planes. This can only be done a limited number of times, however, because each time you refuel you lose some ammo. You receive as much ammo as the number of enemy kills you made last time up in the air. The game is over if your plane crashes, or if you run out of ammunition and are unable to take off.
