First Vortex Rifle Scope
I am starting this review with an excellent rating because of the totality of my purchase. I purchased this scope NEW through an Ebay vendor for $139.99 "out the door"!!! It arrived quickly, in the original box with all paperwork included. It has a very rugged feel with its one piece construction. The Optic clarity seems to be excellent. In my personal opinion the Vortex does have excellent optic clarity, but not quite as good as my Nikon, or Leopold scopes. Perhaps I am a little biased because of the other names....as I am a HUGE fan of the Nikon, and Leopold products. My Nikon and Leopold riflescopes have ALWAYS held up to the toughness of actual shooting and hunting situations for the 35+ years that I have owned and used them. Mind you this Vortex scope was purchased at a bargain price, so for that reason, including it's rugged feeling construction, optic clarity, and the Vortex VIP (Forever Warranty), I am giving it a 5 star rating. I have a friend that accidently ran over his rifle and Vortex scope with his truck he sent it into to Vortex and it was replaced, no questions asked by Vortex. After I received my scope, I mounted it on a .223 rifle, and had it easily sighted in within 3 shots and after a couple of dozen shots verified that it held its zero dead on. I liked it well enough, I immediately took it off the .223 and mounted it on a .270 Winchester...with the same results. So far so good!!! I hope that it holds up to the tougher pounding that a .270 will expose it to compared to the .223. I believe that if the long term quality holds up, I will purchase more Vortex products if I can keep the total costs at a "bargain level". I would definitely recommend Vortex Rifle Scopes to my friends...but not to my enemies.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Lots of eye relief
Too much eye relief, hard to find the sweet spot. I experienced a problem focusing at 200 yards. I could get the crosshairs to focus or the target but not both at the same time. But that could be me. At 100 yards it’s very crisp and bright. Great scope for the price. Brand new scope on a brand new gun it was hard to determine why I was having 2 minute groups.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I have an M1A that needed a good optic. I have spent a lot on prev. scopes.The obvious and expensive brands. I had heard good things about this Vortex scope. Read a lot also. This one has great clear glass, a good look and good price. So far, no complaints at all. I would buy another one If needed
