Delayed flash!
The book promises that one will be playing the piano in a "flash." But the first 30 pages talk about things like chords and majors and minors etc. etc. To this point, I haven't seen any flash or laid my hands on the piano.

Humorous look at chords and rhythms. Easy reading. Very few grammar errors. (None that I marked!)
Scott's suggestion of practicing rhythms on my dog's head worked! My one of my two Great Pyrenees loved it; the other one went to sleep. Read that as "No tongue hangout." I grew up with "boom-chick" and reading chord symbols over the treble clef but had no idea what to do after that. The idea of only having to learn three to four chords to play a song and how to do something other than "boom-chick" helps. The book gives web addresses to hear the examples Scott talks about. A frustrated 70-year-old piano player want-a-be. I hope this will help me over the top.
