Compared To The Excellent R-S65C With Silk Dome Tweeters
Pulled out my Alpine R-S65C from 2017 and replaced them with these because I felt it was time to try the newest version of the beloved Type R's. The R-S65C's have that amazing silk dome tweeter and smooth mids so the bar is was set very high. These sound a little more detailed but not fatiguing, the sound coming from the tweeter is more omnidirectional than the older silk dome tweeters so it's easier to get the sound to your ears without having to directly point them at you. The mid-bass has a definite much appreciated increase and the mids are still just as smooth. They are worth the upgrade especially if you have the R-S65C.2 with that GARBAGE plastic tweeter, I skipped that version because the tweeter was an embarrassment for Alpine. Really glad they redeemed themselves with this newest version.
