2003 Matrix whooping noise issue solved...
I found on-line reference to Matrix and Vibe requiring double shims on the front. Meaning the outer and inner pads on both sides are double shimmed. The shop installed aftermarket pads that had a single shim. After installing the Toyota shim kit, the issue was gone.
