Best for Black American Hair
Let me tell you. I am Black American with natural ultra Kinky hair. This is the best product ever for black people hair. I have tried every other hair dryer. Either it dried your hair out or the attach Combs are always breaking. I can vouch for this product.

Yellowbird vs. Silverbird! My Opinions on Both.
I replaced my two year old Silverbird with this one since my Silverbird was starting to over heat and smelled burnt. I was disappointed because I LOVED the Silverbird so much! The new Yellowbird has a longer body and is more old school; older model. It works well, but it does take longer to dry and straighten my natural curly-wavy-frizzy, medium thickness Caucasian hair. My only BIG GRIPE about this older model dryer is that it's NOT IONIC TECHNOLOGY, and thus, it dries my hair out quite a bit; making look more dry than an Ionic dryer. In my opinion, both dryers work really well. The Yellowbird has a BETTER straightening comb that does NOT melt like the Silverbird comb did with high heat setting, which is a nice bonus. I have been using this since the 80s and other than the handle being maybe slightly smaller, it's still the same. I always use the straightening attachment (which broke on my previous one, but I manage to tape it on and it still worked fine). Leaves hair smooth not frizzy. I like the settings options and it dries hair really really quickly even on the lower settings. Alot of switches for what you actually get.

I did quite a bit of internet research before deciding to spend a little more money on this "Yellow Bird". I'm glad I did. It is a well built unit and should last, as well as having several settings which should satisfy just about anyone. I've found it to be worth the price.
