Better than expected, but still small.
I was somewhat surprised at how well this computer has performed in the short time that we have had it. Essentially the same design as the HP Stream computers that are on sale every Black Friday, these computers blow those out of the water in computing power. The display is sharp, the keyboard holds up relatively well, and it has a good feel. So far, the battery life is in line with a computer of this size, but it still will hold a charge with my kids playing online games for over two hours without a recharge. One of the drawbacks is the small size. Additionally, if you buy it and want traditional storage, you may want to invest in a MicroHD card. There is very little room on the actual computer for storage, but that is not what Chromebooks are designed for. Just What I Needed
I was looking for something that would be a good addition to my laptop that I have. So far this has been absolutely perfect. I'm having to use a computer often for work and school, and I carry this one around with me everywhere. It's super lightweight which was a huge positive for me with all the commuting I do. The battery lasts me at least a couple of days, so I rarely have to worry about bringing the charger with me when going to work or school. This strictly runs off apps, so if you are looking to use word, excel, editing photos not through google and all that jazz you'll have to go with a computer or laptop. I have been able to manage through school using just google docs so far, and again I bought this as an addition to my laptop not to replace it. It's very fast, and I have had no issues connecting to wifi sources. You are always able to download things so you are actually able to work offline. This is helpful if writing a paper or something, and you might be on the bus or just somewhere where there is no internet. There is an SD slot as well as two usb slots. I was a little worried about the memory size. It's 2 GB smaller then my laptop, but once I realized it had the SD and usb slots I wasn't as worried. I went with the 11" size because I wanted something that was smaller then my laptop, but bigger then most tablets. I reason I opted out of a tablet is due to the fact that I'm still a little old fashioned and not a fan of the touch screens. There was a system upgrade that messed with the apps a bit that I am still trying to figure out. It hasn't really affected anything for me, but is different, and I'm still getting used to that. Clean and light weight. A great PC!
This is really a great little machine! Everything works great and it is really clean (like new). I would have given 5 stars if the Ram and hard drive could be upgraded. I never new that about Chrome books. If anyone has any ideas on accomplishing this, I would really appreciate the input. I'm a gamer, not a very good tech. This is my first Chromebook, and even though I did my research, I was unsure about it. I've only had Microsoft Windows products.I am very pleased with this Chromebook for it's 12 inch screen size, it's amazing under 5 second boot time (try to find that with any Windows OS) and it's battery life. My needs aren't complex, just needed web access, no gaming. The compact size for portability yet not what would be considered full laptop bulk is a big plus. Small Chrome book
I bought this Google Chrome laptop as i had just bought a new desktop with Windows 10 on it. The windows 10 does not work all that well and I needed Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office is now a subscription that you pay monthly or yearly for. With this Chrome you can open and use Office without paying for the subscription. This OS does not freeze up like the Windows 10. A Smaller Version for Travel
