The old style was better but this version will probably work.
As I have not used the new trays yet, here are some items I would like to note. 1. I still like the large 15.2" diameter as it provides more surface area that can be used for drying. 2. The new design no longer has has the plastic "L" on the underside of the tray that allowed the automatic alignment of the trays in a slight spiral to make airflow easier. Now it is necessary to visually look when stacking the trays. 3. I have always used the plastic mesh on the trays as they are much easier to clean than just the trays. It would be nice for these to be included rather than a separate purchase. 4. If I could find the old style tray I would purchase them before this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

More beef jerky!
I bought the Nesco F1040 a couple of years ago. It came with 4 trays which wasn't quite enough for me. So I bought 2 more and then another 2. These are just like the trays that came with my f1040 so I can't comment on the earlier trays that other reviewers seem to prefer quite a bit more. These trays fit my purposes to a tee. The dehydrator works very well with them and the clean-up is fairly easy. The jerky keeps on a coming, and now I can produce more per drying session.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Beware of box contents not matching images on box.
Nesco redesigned these trays at some point (I don't know exactly when) and I think that the newer design is inferior to the old one. Unfortunately, the packaging wasn't redesigned at the same time so there are some boxes which appear to be the older design, but which contain the newer design. As a result, if you're looking for the older design, it's not enough to know what the box looks like; you have to actually open the package.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
