worth the money for sure
It was a very good value & produces great sound! I couldn't say it was well designed because the speakers slide onto mounting brackets from one direction only. This is because the engineers decided to place the wire attachment poles directly in line with the center mounted bracket. Only a issue if mounting near a left side obstacle, then speaker can only be mounted with label upside down. Poor engineering for my application. That said they are quality speakers & perform great in my greenhouse. It's a rough environment for speakers!

Bose 151 SE Outdoor Speakers--Yes, we have no banana plugs
The speakers are small, but efficient, and have a fairly natural sound. I wish that the sound would blend into the background a bit more, but that's asking a lot. I also think the mounting bracket could be better designed, but it works well enough. Finally, the connector posts look like they are at the standard width for banana plug pairs, but they are not. They are about two millimeters wider than the standard. As a consequence you can't use the standard banana plug connector pairs. This probably isn't that much of a fault because in most applications,, the connector would stick out too far and hit the mounting bracket anyway.

Quality sound
We have owned these speakers for several years. One of them just went out. That's not good, but it is several years old. So we bought a new set, using one to replace the one that went out and keeping one as a backup. We love the sound quality, and they pair well with our other Bose components.

These speakers sound good enough if you don't want it too loud. This is what I want so they are great for me. Now if you want some real juice get the 251 which are a big differences in sound loudness and quality.
