Cover art by Peter Mullen. Details in gold foil. 248 pages, A5 (Digest-sized). Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy book 1 of 2. Everything a player needs.
These hardcover books are excellent updates of the old red and blue B/X (Basic/Expert) rules for Dungeons & Dragons, first published in the early 1980s. If you like that version of D&D, you won't go wrong with these. The quality is very good - hardbound volumes with two built-in ribbons for page markers.
If you've never played D&D or any other role-playing game, but want to give it a try, Old School Essentials is as good a way as any to begin. The rules are about as simple as you can get.
