Dry Mouth
I've been troubled with this by-product of meds and aging for a while now. I'd seen the commercials which sparked my interest but it wasn't until my endo actually mentioned that my BP med caused dry mouth.. Which she switched and I also ordered up some Biotene. Those of us that suffer this aliment know how irksome it is to be awoken by the dry mouth/throat. No; Biotene doesn't claim to alieve dry throat. You can notice as your rinsing you mouth the returning ability to produce moisture. I would not recommend intentionally swallowing Biotene . But, after you spit out the rinse a by-product is some added moisture relief to your throat. My dentist recommended this when I told her my new medication seemed to be causing dry mouth to the point that I couldn't sleep well. Good for oral cleansing...teeth and gums
Been using for many years on advice from a dental professional. Having an auto- immune disease that includes a symptom of drying out mucous membranes some of which are oral means a mouth with very little saliva production. Leading to dryness causing potential for dental caries and accumulation of germs in the mouth. The Biotene Oral Rinse has helped relieve some of the dryness.
