Metra 82-6901 adapts 6x9 speaker locations to provide a location for mounting 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" speakers with additional space for multiple sizes of tweeters. Great for "component sets". A real time saver for the do-it-yourselfer or professional installer. Some cuttings may be required, but should not be a challenge, due to the fact that any areas that might need to be cut, are 'scored'. Note: there is some serious confusion with the Metra item#, labeling sticker, & instructions included. There's description label & instructions show it to be for Ford 6x8 to 6-1/2" or 5-1/4" adapter primarily for 6x8. This is Not true. THIS IS A MISTAKE FROM METRA! Many Metra dealers will list the 82-6901 for Ford 6x8 in their product descriptions. BE ASSURED 82-6901 IS THE RIGHT # FOR 6X9 TO 6-1/2" or 5-1/4" conversation. The proper 6x8 or 5x7 Metra item # is 82-5601 for Ford/Mercury/Lincoln/Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/Radio vehicles converting from 6x8 or 5x7 to 6-1/2" or 5-1/4" speakers. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, because of the easy confusion caused by mislabeling.
