great step up from NiMh
I get a lot of life out of my Makita cordless drills, even though I am a contractor. My 18v NiMh cordless drills were still going, but the big box had a black Friday sale on a drill, battery and charger that was so good I bought two. Really impressed with the run time on the lithium ion, but wanted a 5 a/h for my go to batt, thus this purchase. Double the run time of my old NiMh, and very fast recharge. Only gave it 4 stars, as the battery level lights do not work on mine. Seller quickly and cheerfully gave me a partial refund, as this did not affect the performance of the battery. Weak power

It's a Great Battery
When it comes to Makita, you should always opt for the OEM battery. I've tried off brands, but after several recharges or leaving them on a charger for a long period of time, they fail. Good value battery for my Makita tools
The photo showed a 5 Ah battery which was what I was looking for but are far more expensive. When I received the 3 Ah item I verified that it was what was intended by the site and decided to give it a try. It was already fully charged and fits my Mikita unit. The real deal
I tried a knockoff replacement battery and it arrived DOA. I the spent more and got the real deal makita branded battery for my new 1/2 in driver drill and it fits and works perfect. I will look for the Makita branded items from now on since my other battery is seven years old and still works perfectly on my 1/4 drive impact. Large Storage Capacity for Plenty of Available Power
Great Li-ion battery, high storage capacity, 5.0Ah. I use it with the Makita DEBADP05 adapter that has 2 USB ports to power or charge LV lights in my camper. Really nice to not be drawing from the starter battery. Plus, if I want, 5.0Ah battery has capacity to run tools larger than my drill & impact driver, like a circular saw. these are the old version of the Makita 18v 4Ah
I got them at a great price. The only difference I can tell from the newer model is the integrated power meter in the new ones that these lack. No matter to me though as my Makita grinder has an led meter built into it. One of these batts will run the grinder for approx 30-40 minutes. In that amount of time the other battery has finished charging. I am very happy with my new Makita 4 1/2in grinder, fast charger, and 2-4Ah battery setup that I pieced together from Ebay sellers for about half of what it would have cost from AmazonVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
