  • poorly thought out

Axle is 15mm and hole in tool is 14mm. You cannot slip the tool over the axle to engage the lock ring as shown in the DT Swiss tech video. You must remove the non drive side bearing first, remove the axle and then you can remove the lock ring. You must remember these steps on reassembly. The tool works, is pretty good quality but it was stupid not to make the hole larger. I would not buy it again or recommend it. Buy the other design that is available on ebay for about the same price as shown in the photo

  • Tool broke the first time I used it

It's made of powdered metal and not forged metal. The tool broke the very first time we used it in a vice and turned the hub to extract the lock ring. When the tool broke, it also permanently damaged the axle shaft (split it in fact) and now I have to buy a new hub. Might work on new hubs that aren't tight. Wouldn't recommend for anything else, this was not just a waste of my money but cost me money.

  • Great looking tool for the DT Swiss 240 hub.

To work on the DT Swiss hubs take very special tools. I originally thought that I would use DT Swiss tools. I bought a DT tool but found that if I had to get all the tools for the hub it would get more expensive than taking the hubs to my local bicycle shop. I am grateful that these tools are available for home mechanics.

  • Good tool

Worked perfect. My ring gear was stuck. Hitting it with an impact did the trick. Good tool, better than DT Swiss one.

  • Does the job

Can't fault the part, put a serious load on 8t and it held without any issues

  • Cheap and works - what's not to like?

Cheap as chips and works fine. Finish is a little rough
