    Pattern Making book review

The book though looks like not so brand new wrapped in plastic though, the content is great. Overall worth buying considering price for U.S. edition is much expensive.

  • Top critical review

Book not the same as the photo

In the photo it shows the hardcover version but when I received it, it was the soft cover version. It never mentioned in the description that it was the soft cover if they did I wouldn’t of bought it because I could of got it for a lot cheaper some place else. I emailed them about my situation more than a week ago and never got a reply.

  • Great for fashion majors

I ordered this book for my Pattern-making class. Although the cover is deceiving and it is actually the black and white edition they are selling the content is matched to the color version with minor set backs. Such as, the patterns they show in the book have no variation in color to define which line should be cut. Having said that, there are written instructions to help indicate to the reader. All around a good purchase.

  • Great Reference/learning pattern making book

I am an accomplished dressmaker but wanted to expand my experience by learning the skills related to making my own patterns. I attend local classes with an experienced teacher, which was helpful in creating the basic dress sloaper or foundation. I found this book so helpful in expanding my knowledge beyond the class and growing my technical skills in patternmaking. It has it all and I use it. It has clear pictures and explanations.

  • Best book for pattern design.

Great book with lots of details. Great illustrations, good explanations of techniques. A must have for anyone wanting to design their own patterns. A wonderful book for those who are not total beginners. You need a really good, basic background in garment sewing to use this book.

  • OLDER EDITION SENT

I ordered the fifth edition of this book as listed but was sent a fourth edition instead. If I wanted a fourth edition I'd simply have bought that. It was quite disappointing because it was a gift for someone who really wanted the 5th ed.

  • Great reference for seamstresses

Eventhough I design doll clothes and much of this book is way more than I need to know, it's such fun to read and think about how to make different styles. There are great illustrations with great detail.

  • A valuable resource

I haven't been able to spend much time with it yet but am really looking forward to it, as it's reputed to be one of the best books in this field.

  • A Cumulative Reinforcement

The book gives the sewing practitioner a collection of design elements that require and therefore reinforce the early basic skills of construction. Thus leading to whole new level of creation.
