Beats all other methods
I have tried them all; Window mounts, dash mounts. vent mounts, visor mounts, cup holder mounts, and even some phone mounts, and a few others including some home-made ingenious mounts of my own design. NONE of them kept the GPS stable whether on an Interstate highway, or a rough rural road. Many a time my GPS ended up on the floor using other mounts. NO MORE problems! The CD Slot Mount is in a perfect position for rapid viewing and just a short distance from the lighter plug-in to keep the cord length at a minimum alleviating interference with other controls and lever-slides. I gave this mount 5 stars even tho the ball fits into the back of my GPS somewhat loose. The mount holds securely in the CD slot when using the supplied pads. So far the ball connection on the mount is holding, but in time, I'm sure I will have to do something to keep the GPS in place, especially on rough roads.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Doesn't Stay Secure
The unit fits and secures nicely but the gps unit doesnt stay straight I believe the ball that connects is slightly smaller than factory I ended up super gluing the back of the gps to the ball attachment so removal is not a option with unscrewing the whole assemblyVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

CD player/slot needs to be flush with surrounding dash area to work.
Will not work in a C5 Corette with OEM stereo because the CD player/slot is recessed. Works fine in a 2016 KIA Forte (and probably any vehicle thats CD player/slot is NOT recessed).
