Love my refurbished JVC DR-MV150B DVD Recorder VCR Combo

I've never purchased refurbished before, but this time I had to have the same unit for continuity sake so I agreed to a used unit. Well, it's been several weeks and the unit works beautifully. I would recommend this unit to anyone. The only difference between the JVC DR-MV150B and the JVC DR-MV100A is that the 100A was manufactured first and the following year they manufactured the same unit but changed the model to 150B. The remote control devices are interchangeable.

Plays and records well, but the DVD's recorded only play on this device. I assume it's different format that newer players can't recognize.

  • Big Dent and Works

It has a very large dent on the top, but that was listed in the description. I also didn't notice that it didn't come with a remote control. The description says so but they could have had it listed more prominently (NO REMOTE). But you know I was able to set it up with my harmony remote. I haven't had much time to record things, but it works for the TV to display signals. I don't really know if it's easy to use or if it is well designed. Should be fine.

  • YES! NEW ONES!

I've had two of these since 2008 or 2009. I've recorded so many tv shows for all of these years that I'm totally surprised that they've lasted this long!!! They've been through our house fire in 2014, protected on shelves so they didn't get water damage but they DID get smoke damaged. I've been using them and they finally started acting up on me...timer record not always working. Arguing with me as to whether or not they want to record. Catching the tape and holding it. SO, when I finally realized I wasn't going to be happy until I had something that would guarantee I could record my shows nightly, I started searching. Couldn't find anything that would work. DVR's, I'm not paying the price for the ones that you don't have to have cable with! I finally started searching online for the same thing i'd had before. I am THRILLED to be able to carry on with the same brand etc. that I had before! THANK YOU FOR MY NEW DVD/VHS RECORDER!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! It helped that I had a remote AND the wires already!!!

  • DVD/VCR/antenna TV tuner=great feature

My old unit stopped recording so this was a replacement. One of the reasons I bought with "NO Remote" was I had one. These units would be a nightmare without the true remote. Also has a digital tuner so antenna will allow free TV broadcast.

  • So happy that someone had this machine for sale so I could replace mine.

I had the same product & wanted to replace it while I see if mine could be fixed. I'm just sorry that a person can't purchase this in stores anymore. Not everyone has access to high speed internet. It's a good machine & I like the dubbing feature, too.

  • Replacement for a well loved item!

We had this very same one. Thankfully I saved the manual! I find it very easy to use. However you can no longer use it to tape things as our cable company scrambles everything. But you can watch those old VHS tapes on it and you can record VHS to DVD.

  • Features

I have had several of these when they were on the market new, so I expected it to be just as it is. It records DVDs and plays back well in both mono and stereo. I has a clear picture and good sound during playback.

It does what it was built to do with ease. The picture quality is great. I use it to convert my videotapes to DVD. I love this brand. L
