THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a nitro-burning joyride that makes outstanding use of special effects, innovative camera work, and a nonstop throbbing soundtrack. From the opening sequence--a high-speed, high-tech truck robbery--the film never drops below the red line. Roaring along at breakneck speed, Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew meet on the streets of L.A. each night to show off their high-powered racers. When new guy Brian (Paul Walker) wants to add his fuel to the fire, he can't cough up the cash to race, but offers up his car as collateral. In their tiny jacked compacts, Dom, Brian, and Edwin (Ja Rule) burst into a high-gear race with Brian nearly beating perennial champion Dom. But in the final moments, he loses the race and his car. Brian's debt is quickly cleared, however, when he saves Dom both from the cops and from a potentially violent encounter with Johnny Tran (Rick Yune), a rival gang lord. Dom takes Brian under his wing--a decision that disgusts his gang but delights his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). The gang never suspects that Brian is not who he seems: he is actually an undercover cop, and though he wishes otherwise, he's there to bust Dom for committing the armed truck robbery witnessed in the opening scenes.Product Identifiers

The Fast and the Furious
A blu ray version of exceptional quality. Even at my age I feel the need to speed and this movie gives me a thrill ride like no other. The driving sequences are phenomenal and it makes me wish I still had my '87 Camaro 4 speed. It was yellow and could that car move. I'm a huge fan of Vin Diesel and have been for years. Paul Walker is completely believable in his role as an undercover cop with a true sense of what loyalty really is. Michelle Rodriguez, in one of her first major roles is fantastic as the tough girl, grease monkey, girlfriend who's not afraid of anyone or anything, and although there doesn't seem to be any physical similarity between Diesel and Jordana Brewster the brother and sisterly on screen love is completely heartwarming. Fast and Furious with the original cast comes about five years later then the remainder of the series until the untimely and tragic death of Paul Walker, may he rest in peace. The entire series is well worth owning and enjoying over and over again anytime you feel the need to harken back to the days when you were a wild and crazy teenager with no understanding or conception of danger.
