Sorrow of a soul torn between cultures
This is a book about being between cultures: your parents' one, a strong, ancient, enigmatic, and a surrounding one, also strong, but young and simple-minded. It's written with pain of realization that what your parents have carried for so long, and tried to pass to you, their knowledge, their wisdom, their love - they ways they love you - is draining through the sand and is not recoverable on the personal level. It is painful to read it. The book is a lament.
