    This is a excellent pedal.

I only gave it four stars so you don't think I'm crazy. A great delay for a little bit of money. I had the big name pedals poop out after a short time. They said made in America but I open them up and they have the cheap Chinese PC boards. These guy doesn't lie to you but it works long time. I am lucky to get 8 months out of the costly ones.

  • Top critical review

    Very short delay time

Ok it works , it sounds decent. If your looking to thicken your sound it does that , however it has a very short delay time at max it's only 300 ms. So no triplet talk back echo effects going on here but for slap back type delay it's ok . Its more effective as a reverb or solo enhancement . It is quiet and clean reproduction of sound it's just very limited by the VERY SHORT delay time .

  • Behringer VD400

The pedal seems to be built well. Battery compartment access could be better designed. Unit seems to go into echo runaway in some settings and you have to turn it off or it reaches a terrible crescendo. Not sure if that is a failure of design or learning intensity adjustments. Intensity seems to have too much potentiometer travel for the circuit design as you can't use it much above half way. Repeat and Echo settings seem to be of better design. They work in all positions. I purchased this to use with an Electric Mandolin. It seams to augment performance and for the price it was a good choice. As I learn more perhaps a different pedal would be better for this application.

  • This is an echo effect, it does not have a time setting.Nice sound though.

This is an echo box, it does echo fast or slow. This device does not have a 'time' setting like a delay effect does. If the intensity level is turned up over half way, this box will go into feedback loop and will have to be shut off to stop it. The VD400 is made of plastic, but seems pretty study. On the good side, the VD400 has a nice rich sound to it. I found that if you keep the repeat rate at minimum and the echo and intensity a little over 1/4, this box is excellent for lead guitar, at this setting you will get nice sustain and boost. The VD400 is a one trick pony, but I think its worth the money due to its fat sound.

  • OK, for the money. When you need just a touch od "Delay."

This is a nice little Delay pedal. If you're after the best-sounding Delay with all the bells and whistles, then this is not it. But if you like me, and want just a hint of delay without coloring your sound then this is a great pedal. I just want to add a bit of delay to the sound to give my Jazz guitars just a bit more sustain. And it did the job very well. If you need decent delay padel for not a lot of money, then try this one. You may be pleasantly surprised.

  • nice to have for certain tunes

got for playing amplified harmonica. my amp has no reverb setting. I use this pedal on certain tunes.it's ok for $25. I also use a BLUES DRIVER pedal with my 1957 vintage ALAMO tube amp...it's $25, remember.

  • Delay Pedal

It's Okay, But Just Don't Seem to Have a Long Enough Delay. It's Fine, But Not As Described. Depending on the Type of Instruments and Music That You Play.

  • Good Pedal

For the money... great buy with vintage sound but would encourage looking for one that has tap rhythm feature if your music need a more control of repeats.

  • No regrets....

I use 2 delays in parallel, much like David Gilmour does to get that deep echo along with a Blues Driver and compressor. Works great on my lead lines. For the price you can't beat them.

  • Pretty good clone.

Decent clone of Boss DM-2/3. Only complaint is there is a significant volume drop in the effect out when there is also a cable plugged into the direct out. If this was fixed it would be almost perfect Boss DM-2/3 clone.
