Starmate 5
Sirius has changed it's subscription concept. First the seller said it had a subscription for the unit. But it did not. I considered just buying a subscription for the life of the unit. But, Sirius does not offer lifetime anymore. I therefore have sent the unit back to the seller. As I am not interested in paying Sirius a monthly fee. I do have one Starmate with a boombox for the house and had originally put the Starmate in a cradle in a older Volvo 850. Just thought it would be easier to have two. This is the best Sirius receiver
This is the best receiver if you are interested in using Sirius A La Carte (50 channels, $7.99). It has 45+ minutes of playback memory. Most receivers are NOT A La Carte capable. This one is. Not XM but Sirius. Although they are the same company they use different systems. The Sirius is much farther reaching. We actually use ours in Central America. Great little compact radio

Xm radio is for a car.
