The DG41RQ motherboard is part of the Essential Series from the Intel Corporation. All motherboards and other hardware in the Essential Series are designed to be versatile across a wide range of desktop PC applications. This board is available in both retail and OEM versions. Numerous manufacturers have used these boards in their prebuilt systems, and users can purchase these OEM boards as replacements. Alternatively, you could opt for the retail edition for your own custom PC build.Intel has based this desktop mainboard on the Intel G41 Express Chipset. This chipset includes the Intel 82G41 graphics and memory and the Intel 82801GB I/O controller hubs. Your choice of CPU attaches to the motherboard via the LGA775 socket. The processors supported by this socket include the Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core, and Celeron Sequence 400. These allow for 64-bit computing. Control your motherboard and processor with an Intel BIOS. This BIOS features Plug and Play, ACPI, and SMBIOS. The form factor is microATX, and it measures 9.6 by 8.6 inches.The DG41RQ desktop mainboard features two DDR2 SDRAM DIMM sockets. These Dual Inline Memory Module sockets support DDR2 at either 667 or 800 MHz. Each slot can support up to 4 GB of RAM, which allows for 8 GB of total system memory. Mixing capacities is also an option. If you already have one 2 GB memory stick, for instance, you could purchase one 4 GB stick for a total of 6 GB of memory.Attach storage to your desktop computer with four serial ATA interfaces. It also features one Parallel ATA IDE with UDMA 33 and ATA-66/100 support for legacy connections. The SATA interface is SATA II, which means that each of the four ports can handle up to 3 GB/second. Each port can support one device. For storage purposes, you can connect up to four of either mechanical hard drives or solid-state drives. These connections also support optical drives, such as Blu-ray disc, DVD, and CD, including writers.Expand your desktop computer via three expansion slots. This board provides one PCIe 2x16 as well as two conventional PCI slots. Use these to attach a wide range of internal components, including a GPU. An add-in card is optional because the DG41RQ can perform rendering via an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X450. Audio is provided via an integrated Intel 82801GB chip. This chip uses the Realtek ALC662 codec and handles stereo playback, 5.1 playback, and 4+2 channel in multi-streaming mode.When using the iGPU, the Intel DG41RQ desktop motherboard will output video via a provided VGA port. When using a GPU, it’ll use the VGA, DVI, or HDMI connections on that card. An RJ-45 LAN connector with integrated status LEDs gives you access to 10/100/1000 Ethernet. Four USB 2.0 ports are provided in two pairs and are accessible from the rear I/O panel. These boards also have an additional four internal connections you can use to wire USB 2.0 ports on your desktop tower. Cheap and worked
Everything worked. Was missing a heatsink on a board component, and one of the metal mounts was broken, but I scavenged the heat sink from a non-working board that I already had. A very good set of components for an inexpensive but productive PC
First of all, I would like to congratulate all of you on the significant scientific and technical progress in the field of information technology. The power of computers is increasing rapidly, but the range of offers on the market is growing even faster. You bought one PC platform (for example Socket1366), but a year later there is a socket 1155 and so on. Should we change the system to be in a trend every year? Of course not, of course this does not apply to everyone. But for a regular user for everyday tasks (working in text editors, watching movies and videos, searching the Internet, etc.), it's enough for a computer on the platform of the long forgotten socket 775 and this set on the Intel G41 chipset is a good confirmation of that.
