Anyway a good buy.
Good for the price but one small disadvantage: it needs a JVC HA S160 if you listen only classical music in cds [My main interest]. Now Sony MFD 110 headphones sound better in cassette & radio with good sound. And if you are interested in jazz, rock & roll [Elvis & Beatles], Rap [B.I.G] & Salsa [Lito Pena] any Sony headphones, especially the one I mentioned, is good enough.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good unit, but treat it gently.
All of the functions work as described. We've had three of them in the last several years. We found that if you expose this unit to any kind of humid environment like a bathroom, the cd player will permanently stop working. So be careful with that. The cassette deck will eventually breakdown as well (it takes a few years of steady use). Be careful with the long antenna.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A fine product but too expensive
I'd have given it five stars because it is an excellent product. However, it has tripled in price in just a few years like everything else. I can't see paying more than $100 or so for a boombox radio. It does the job of playing CDs, radio, even the rarely used format of cassette tapes! Has headphone input as well. Loved the fact that it was in like-new condition so I'm obviously very happy with the purchase of this unit. This was exactly what I wanted. A compact CD player that sounds better than most compact CD players! The bass boost button is nice because you can turn it on or off to fit the music or your preferences. It has a am/fm radio, and tape player which I love, as most compact CD players don’t.
