Works great, but sometimes it start signaling off & on every few seconds & you have to press power button to reset it. I would have been concerned but my daughter had bought one from another vendor & I had used her’s & I did the same thing. Way more sensitive and great construction.
This pinpointer come factory set and the sensitivity was very high. You can change that in the settings because it will start beeping as soon as you stick it in a hole. This pinpointer reads metal not at just the tip but all the way up , so objects are hard to track down if they are small. Great handheld metal detector. It's easy to use and works very well. I bought it after watching videos online showing comparison between it and the Chinese copies. Sensitivity is excellent and adjusting it is easy as holding it near the items you want to tune out and turn it off and back on. . One button operation. One thing I really like is the 9-volt battery compartment. Unscrew the tail cap and the compartment is formed to hold the battery against contacts when the cap is on. It doesn't use the normal flimsy 9-volt battery connector i usually rip loose changing batteries. It recommends removing the battery if storing over 30 days so I just reverse the battery in the compartment when I'm finished using it. There are 3 levels of sensitivity with vibration alert with or without tones. I use it to locate survey pins and dropped screws/parts in gravel and grass and it works very well. I have not used it under water but I don't expect to need to. The description online says waterproof to 10 feet but the package mine came in says to 20 feet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

What I Wanted
I got involved with a metal detecting club and all of them had this kind of wand or pointer. The one I had was not only used, but of dubious quality. One of them loaned me his wand, just like this one, and I was amazed as to how well it worked. I did some reviews and 'best of' lists to see this was a top contender. Places that sold it were really high (one flogging it for nearly $200). When I got it, I gave it a road test. The instructions are not as clear as they should be, but once you understood how it worked, it was just as terrific as what I had tried already. Worth the ebay Sales Price.....
Just as expected and at a very low price . Haven't used it in water yet. I'll let the grand kids test it when we are at the pool and beach this summer. Included the battery which was dated within 3 months. The included holster is a little small and inhibits the quick entry and exit of the Propointer. If you are not careful , quick insertion of the unit will throw off the settings. This is also true of a much cheaper pinpointer and holster i am replacing.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great so far!
So, I was able to get this at a good price. However, it was in the early winter season so other that testing it, I haven't been able to field test it. From all indications, it is high quality and does have 6 different settings. Three settings (low, medium and high sensitivity) with sound and vibration, and three without sound (still with vibration).
