I'm sure the 5 year old will like!
I was expecting this to be a full box type thing you would put on your head, this is not. It is plastic and just goes on the face and has a stretchy velcro band to hold it on like a mask. Overall, plastic should hold up better than cardboard.. and the 5 year old will enjoy it.
