  • Lovely little guitar

I really want to give the guitar five stars and I would if the wood was just a little thicker stock. Compared to the baby Taylor or the Martin Jr the pf2mh is noticeably thinner. I've had the guitar for quite a while now and I gave it the benefit of the doubt at first because it was new strings but the truth is compared to my other guitars after they're broken in it does not stay in tune you're going to have to tune at least one of the big strings before you play it every time you pick it up just about. But it's a beautiful little guitar lovely really and it plays wonderful it has a wonderful time and it's a great starter. I got it because I know my niece is coming out to stay with us for an extended stay and I wanted her to have something to learn off of while she was here visiting it she'll probably end up taking home with her. For the money difference this is a very good bargain between the other choices out there I'm not sure how long live this guitar can be with a flat top that's that thin if you don't keep up with it and don't let it dry out you probably be okay but if it starts cracking it it's not going to be long before it starts buzzing. Again on the positive side this is a wonderful way to hear the difference between a solid wood and hpl to my ear there is definitely a difference in this guitar sounds better than the other two I've mentioned in this write-up which I also own. I give the ominous the better tone of the three and I think it's because it's the solid wood and it's as thin as it is but it has convinced me to buy another one of these in the bigger size and I am currently looking at an art wood series Ibanez set up and looking much the same as this only it's a maple top as I recall.

  • Excellent Instrument for the Price

Professional classical violinist here and I'm PICKY when it comes to instruments. Very surprised at how much sound this 3/4 size guitar produces but understand the "trick" that makes it work. Ibanez simply "thinned" out the wood for the main body, which produces more sound but reduces the overall life of the instrument (also the reason it's light). Many a luthier has ruined old violins with this "reconditioning" technique and it has been recognized as something that only works short term so is no longer commonly practiced by reputable professionals for classical bowed instruments. That being said, overall (for the price point), it is a solid instrument. It seems to go out of tune frequently but that may change as the strings "settle" down or if I replace the tuning mechs. Fret placement is not super accurate as even when tuned properly, certain chords are still slightly out of tune (annoying but not a "deal breaker" for the cost). Makes me realize what a precision instrument the violin is in comparison as the lack of frets and fine tuners allow for very fine adjustments in pitch. Four stars is the best I can give for a rating but like I stated, I'm PICKY...lol!

  • Great starter or travel guitar

I would have to rate this guitar a five based on the price. I purchased it for my grandson and may ultimately replace the tuners but may wait until I see if he takes to it or not. The (sealed) tuners I was going to use would require enlarging the holes in the head-stock to a 3/8 size hole. I did replace the wound strings with phosphor bronze strings which did help brighten the bottom end strings; the unwound strings did not need replaced as they were already nice and bright. If you purchase this guitar I would recommend polishing/hydrating the guitar as when it arrived the wood seemed very dry (probably the result of the open pore finish). The intonation up the guitar neck seems very good and the action also pretty good; however I did tweak it slightly. The appearance of the guitar is quite nice and even though I bought this for my grandson it would be a fine travel guitar for anyone willing to upgrade the tuners.

  • Perfect for the just learning person

I do love this little guy. I first purchased a full size Yamaha and couldn't even hold it, it was so big. It did have a wonderful sound but what good was that if I could even hold it. So I purchased this Ibanez. It is a perfect size for my needs. I have really enjoyed learning to play it. It sounds great for a small guitar. Have a little trouble keeping it in tune but it is brand new and I think after it is broken in it will stay in tune better. It is always close but just needs a little tweaking. Yes, I would recommend this guitar , especially for someone who is just learning. Very satisfied with my purchase.

  • Nice little guitar

I was looking for a 3/4 sized guitar to resting in a Nashville tuning. I like the sound and feel of this guitar that so much that I may instead restring the Baby Taylor to a Nashville tuning. Plus it is the more appropriate size when my grandchildren come over that we can 'jam' together.

  • not a toy

This guitar sounds as good as the Fender Parlor guitar I bought. I've heard many full size guitars that couldn't even touch this little guy. I bought it for a girl who's family is having a real hard time and she loves it. I have been keeping it here and giving her a practice space. When she learns how to care for it and can, I'll give it to her. I do not regret buying this guitar at all. I would recommend it to anyone and I was very proud of it when she saw it.

  • great little guitar

It was ordered for a friend with a 9 yr old who wants to learn to play guitar. It is a good starter guitar, but can be played beyond that.

  • Fun guitar

Love this guitar I just have it sitting around grab it when ever I feel like playing. Well made and sounds good for a 3/4 guitar.

  • It's OK for the price

It's a good looking guitar. My fret board has issues though Looks like somebody forgot to change the sand paper Before they sanded it. It's OK for the price I wouldn't pay more
