GREAT Samsung Value Model
The Samsung 8000 series is a GREAT alternative to the more expensive QLED series. I compared them side-by-side many times when I was looking for a main set for my living room entertainment center over a year ago. I ended up going with the QLED then because some extra features and a slightly better picture were worth the price difference and I wanted the best for my living room. But since then the prices of the 8000 series have fallen significantly while the prices of the QLED's haven't. So, when it came time to add a TV/Computer monitor to my spare bedroom/home office, the 8000 was a no-brainer - and I couldn't be happier with it! Setup was incredibly easy using the Samsung phone app and the picture quality is amazing for both TV viewing and using it as a computer monitor. I totally recommend the Samsung 8000 series. NOTE: When comparing different models side-by-side in the store, I did notice a difference between the 7000 series and 8000 series, but between the 8000 series and QLED - some, but not so much difference. I wish I changed the capacitor in the old Samsung
My last Samsung had a 86 page manual with a lot of pictures and diagrams, and it wasn’t even a smart tv. This new Samsung had a one sheet manual. Took most of the morning trying to set it up. Very nice tv. It will require some time to set up but, if you have a basic understanding of technology then you’ll be just fine. The picture quality is a little darker than what I’m used to but overall the image is very clear. It’s suitable for gaming. The sound is very nice. I don’t really need to use my sound system. What I was looking for.
I liked that it still has the red, yellow and white plug ins. Dont use these regularly but great to have there when I do. From what I have read it has the same quality as other models that dont and of course its Samsung. Had to get used to the new clarity from other Samsung but with adjustments etc all is good. I read the reviews on the different series and choose this model based on them. I am thrilled with this series and model. The picture is sharp crisp and better than the reviews in my opinion. Concerns
I feel it should have been $100.00 less in price and Samsung should have included the proper screws for the TV and wall mount bracket. I have not yet used the TV yet because I am waiting to receive and install my LAVA HD 2506 Antenna system.
