Too depresing
It is very depressing, Joaquin Phoenix is so weird in this movie , it makes you wonder about him in general, I would say that he is a social path as well as being over the top in this drama, I believe he could not have played this part if he isn't disturbed in his own life. If this picture wins the Oscar and he wins an Oscar for his role then there is something wrong with the people who vote. It's not just depressing it is so depressing that I had nightmares over watching it. I will never watch it again and probably never watch Joaquin in anything or doing an interview as I would always picture him as this totally deranged person who commits' murder and takes everything out of his refrigerator so he can get in it. I suppose this was the idea to get people talking but I myself suffer from depression and this movie did nothing to help, just showed a person with terrible mental problems gaining notoriety as a mental clown who likes to make himself look as mental as he can and getting praised for an Oscar over such tragedy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I bought dvd because of the amazing reviews. The acting is superb!! The storyline is slow, lame and down right silly at times although disturbing. The "Joker" character (which has nothing to do with the Batman franchise.). The Joker has LONG drawn out laughing episodes, in an absurd high pitch. If frequent crying babies in movies is irritating to you, this is worse!
