Wonderful coming of age story by French director Techine. Terrific acting, interesting characters, slow deliberate( French) storytelling. Most rewarding viewing.

Coming of Age in the French Alps
A tender coming of age drama which takes place in the French Alps. It is in French with English subtitles. The subtitles are well done. The scenery is very picturesque. The story is about two classmates: one who lives in the mountains whose family struggles and is fairly isolated; the other is the son of successful city parents with liberal political attitudes. They attend the same school. They clash on several occasions. As the saying goes, opposites attract. The film is about their journey to fulfill that attraction. The film is photographed beautifully. The production values, writing and acting are all very good. Well worth a watch.
