Great little cleaner for small jobs
Very lightweight, easy to pick up and empty. Good for quick clean-up. I have more substantial vacuums for heavy duty work. This is a great little machine for my everyday needs, like picking up crumbs in kitchen and family room on laminate flooring. It'll even clean up those small floor mats. Dead Dirt Devil Stick Vacuum
I'd read a lot of good comments about this vacuum so I thought, why not? I wanted something very lightweight because of arthritis in my wrists. Things were going great the first time I used it--it was easy to push around and the dirt was being sucked up--life was good. Then (still my first time using it) it stopped working. Dead. No action. Nothing. My husband was out of town for a month so when he got home I asked him to look at it. He said it blew a fuse. I don't understand how or why--I only used it for about 20 minutes on hard surface floors. Hopefully, replacing the fuse will solve the problem!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Light but stronger then I thought
I have a Newfoundland dog and an Umbrella cockatoo which should explain the need for a small vac that is easy to grab when needed which is often. Good points...lightweight..powerful enough to suck up the dog outline of fur left behind when the dog gets up. Can pick it up with one hand to clean over carpet or furniture and not have to drag heavy vac and attachments to do the job. As for the bird it picks up seed and peanut shells that he throws out and also sucks up the powder (bird dust) that lands on the floor and doesn't blow it back into the room. Using a broom and dust pan scatters the dust and you always have that line of dirt that refuses to go into dust pan. Not any more! Trick I learned was to pick Dirt Devil up and hold horizontal before I shut it off so seeds don't fall out. The mesh filter bag is easy to clean and rinse out also the canister part can be rinsed out as well. Bad points for me.....Hard to align to get it back together and cup/canister I wish was a little larger. My issues not the Dirt Devil's. I was impressed by the performance and power...ease of use....lightweight....no bending...cord is plenty long enough... and especially NO BAGS!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Near-Perfect Vacuume!
I have hardwood floors, but I use a lot of large throw-rugs, and that is why I purchased this item. I haven't had the oportunity to test its performance on a carpet, but it is fantastic for throw-rugs and area rugs! ...Oh, and if I were you, I'd spend the extra few dollars to purchase it brand new, as opposed to used or refurbished - that way you get the original storage box, owner's manual, the post card to register it (for insurance purposes), and the comfort of knowing there will be no discoveries of concealed problems.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Decent for light cleaning
Haven't used it much, but it does what it says and what it's priced at. Wouldn't rely on it to solely clean up the place. I mainly use it for my tiny room's wood floor and 2 area carpets i have. So far so good. We've had this for a couple weeks and its outperforming the previous swiffer we had. Dirt devil brought back the on-handle power control and made it a momentary switch so battery power is conserved while released. Mine arrived smashed so I think it's junk!
Arrived crunched in a clear see thru trash bag sitting in front of my house all day. So embarrassing. Co was AWFUL AWFUL TO DEAL WITH. Was treated like dirt! Never again would buy from them or use their shipping company which is FedEx. They called and were beyond rude and hung up on me. I had to file complaints. Ended up getting refund without any apology at all and FedEx was even worse. I had to call and file a complaint against the lady who hung up on me. So awful and unprofessional it's pathetic and NOT WORTH DEALING WITH EITHER COMOANY EVER IN MY OPINION!!! Finally a vacuum I like to use.
I wish I had this 20 years ago. It is perfect for kitchen floors, hardwood floors, bathroom floors and scatter rugs. It has a small footprint, is lightweight and easy to use and does a good job picking up dust bunnies, hair, crumbs, all the small stuff. It does a pretty good job cleaning the scatter rugs without the rug getting sucked up into the nozzle which usually happens with more powerful vacuums.
