  I'm not sure if this thing really does 98 db but it's at least close. Here's the thing. While the minimum crossover frequency is pretty high (I assumed their 3600 hz rating), the detail that this item delivers is as good as a true ribbon driver. It's more detail than the ribbon drivers with a voice coil printed on a film. In other words ... faster transient response .. This item has great value. Just be careful to pair it with a high grade mid-range unit that is good at 4 or 5 khz.
