I also noticed a faint smell of gas which confirmed they really do test and adjust their carbs before shipping them. I reached out before installing it with a question about a vacuum line and even though it was after hours I received a very helpful response which worked. After installing it I fired it up and it started quickly. I only needed to raise the idle.
