About us
It was in Becancour, Quebec, Canada, that the idea of protecting residential hot water tanks using impressed current anodes arose. Originally, Corro-Protec focused on protecting city-owned potable water tank and plumbing infrastructures from rusting. However, the team quickly noted the striking similarities between the large city tank and everyday residential water heaters. This realization would form the bedrock of their future innovations.
Fueled by their experience with impressed current protection for municipal infrastructures and piling structures, Corro-Protec launched a detailed study investigating the lifespan of water heaters. The findings were clear: rust was the main factor driving the premature retirement of these appliances. It was against this backdrop that Carl Tarini, a key figure within the company, conceived and developed the Corro-Protec anode in the Techno Protection laboratories in 2006.
