    This was one of my first two purchases of camera gear from Japan. Given that, I was worried about possible "gotchas" and additional costs. This transaction was very smooth, the item was as described (near mint), the price was competitive, the packing was good, well padded and boxed and secure, shipping was fast and flawless. Overall, it made me consider purchasing more gear from Japan and this vendor in the future. The item arrived to Texas from Japan in just a few days. I'm happy.

    The shipping was quick but be aware that DHL charged like 17% duty + tax for the item to Canada. The item itself does look like new as the seller described. However, the SDM motor and AF does not work while seller listed it as working properly. So basically I paid for a manual lens for a price quite higher than other DA* 50135 should be if the SDM failed to work. Contacted the seller and they responded quite promptly. Offered me a solution and I ok with the offer.

    Item arrived as described, carefully packaged. Excellent seller. The camera was shipped quickly, and it was only delayed once it arrived in the US. For US buyers just be ready for shipping for purchases over $800 to be held in customs because of the new import laws in the US.

    *** The customs duties I had to pay on this item from Japan were ridiculous ($350 on a $900 item) Japanese sellers should really notify US buyers in the future and they should start adjusting their prices accordingly if they wish to keep their American buyers. For now I'm filtering all my searches to US or North American sellers only.
