About us

The Game Steward was co-founded by Dan and Michael. We became friends at a beloved (and now belated) local game store Virginia, called The Little Soldier. We played everything we could get our hands on back then - from Dungeons & Dragons to Axis & Allies to Car Wars to Advanced Civilization. Many of our best friends today are gamers we played games with at The Little Soldier.

We discovered Kickstarter in 2012. But while we loved discovering new games, the crazy prices for Kickstarter games in the aftermarket left us thinking there had to be a better way of bringing Kickstarter games to market at more reasonable prices. And thus, The Game Steward was born.

We began selling games in 2013, dedicated to offering Kickstarter games with all the stretch goals and "exclusives" that you won't find on larger online stores. From small card games to the biggest sprawling miniatures game, we've backed over 1,000+ different Kickstarter games, with new games being added every week.
