Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 Keyboard Controller

Great controller!

I'm only recently starting to use this controller and so far it had been awesome! The way it is mapped to it's plethora of sounds in Analog Lab makes it easy to use. Also, it's pre mapped for just about any of the popular DAWs out there. I am not what you would call an expert with these controller / software instruments so it must be pretty easy if I can use it. I'm using Ableton 10 and it works fine. The only reason I did not give the controller a 5 is that the key bed feels a little light. The company from Las Vegas, e studio star, was wonderful to deal with. They shipped it quickly and followed up after the sale.Read full review

Good Functionality, Poor Build Quality

This could be a useful controller, given its light weight and extensive controls. However, the quality like many other Arturia hardware products-is substandard. Within a few minutes of playing this keyboard, some of the keys were no longer returning to the key off position. The feel of the keys is not particularly good either, but it is playable. The included Analog Lab 3 software is quite good, but it would be better to purchase it separately and take a pass on the hardware. Read full review

Great design but poor keybed

I really wanted to like this midi keyboard due to the looks of it but once I got it and played the keys they felt to stiff for me when pressing down on them. Returning it. Ended up buying my first pick... the new komplete kontrol a61 and the keybed feels like a dream! Amazing midi keyboard!Read full review

This is plenty to feed your imagination

This product offers so many different plug ins to support so many different styles. It will take some time to not even come close to opening up all of the possibilities. Set up is not bad If you are computer literate and after that it is plug and play. The sound is nice. Great starter software included. I am and will be enjoying/learning for a while.Read full review

Many compatibility problems

While the keyboard does work with Analog Lab 4 it has no support for Presonus Studio One 4 and causes many compatibility issues. ever since I made the mistake of purchasing it there's been lost of audio problems. Support is poor as, as is typical with audio manufacturers, all online references and tutorials are outdated and useless.Read full review
