ASANTE SENSOR PROS & CONS
PROS:
1. unit smaller than it appears
2. comes w/quality 3M tape adhesive + a spare for moving the unit
3. appears finished, well built of lightweight bone colored plastic, devoid of flashing or molding marks or other signs of poor craftsmanship
4. works as designed given limitations of the host network
CONS:
1. extremely dependent on the host network, any latency or failures in your gateway, produce event reporting latency that exceeds even the video delay
2. limited range
CONCLUSION:
If you have or plan to buy the Asante Garade door opener; this optional unit will be the pinnacle of your home experiment. The unit is NOT necessary and adds only a small notification to the system. It also adds colorized buttons on you cell's display i e. (red for opened & green for closed) I think that it was well thought out. I would not have paid full price for it though so I waited and pounced on the right deal. I'm happy my complete Asante garage door opener and security system.Read full review
