I have used several of these decoders. They are compact and easy to fit into HO scale locomotives. If you only need two lights and a motor connection, they do the job nicely.

Too light for some HO locomotives

Very small and easy to install, but some HO locomotives draw more than the 1.0A current rating.
The Digitrax DH126 is a safer choice for HO. It's twice the size, and has a 1.5A current rating.
