Purchased three "Genie" garage door openers for about $20 apiece. Only one of these three actually work. They will synch with the opener but only work for 2 or 3 times before having to re- do the Learn Code set up all over again. I changed the batteries in the two that do not work but no luck. Very frustrating. They look pretty good though. My garage door repairman said that these are no longer being manufactured so my choices are limited unless I want to buy two entirely new garage door opening systems.Read full review

As a retired engineer, I recommend using any remote with a 12 volt battery, even if it has to be an older one. Works from a distance

We also have the very small Genie openers, which work well, but must be within 50 feet of the door. These larger openers, however, work from 150 feet or slightly more, which is a big help because the door is open before we reach our garage, which means we can just push the button while we are moving and never have to stop until we get out of our cars in the garage.Read full review
