Very impressive for the price

I bought one to make use with my hacked Nintendo Wii, it has worked perfectly. Quality is what you'd expect but uses very thick wires so it feels very durable for the price and the connectors are quite durable as well. Im only using a 300gb hdd with it but it hasn't failed and worked on every device i've tried and its had no trouble, if you are intending on using this for something like a samsung evo on it id probably say don't go for this. Good for SSD and 2.5" HDD from laptops

Works fine with SSD and 2.5" HDD for laptops. Doesn't seem to supply enough electricity for the old 3.5" HDDs from desktop computers of old. I think those HDDs require 12 volts and USB only supplies 5 volts.Read full review

Awful for encrypted drives

Using various GNU/Linux distributions, I've been *trying* to use mine to copy files from various LUKS encrypted hard drives from laptops. After a few minutes, drive will disconnect and re-appear as a new drive. This will not happen if I hook the drives up to the mobo using the proper SATA cable and my PC's power supply.

Major file-system corruption potential, avoid--at least for this use-case.Read full review
