Bright but not user friendly.
Disappointed the tail cap only works as a momentary sw. making turning it all the way on to the brightest setting a time consuming PITA. also for this price I would like to see an adjustable focus on the beam. That is an easy to do and common technology now. There is no reason a light at this price point shouldn't have it. That said the light works as advertised and the low setting is perfect for when I need to get up without disturbing anyone or blinding myself byes adjust.
All in all, a Lens Light is a better buy for the money although not as bright.Read full review

I have several surefire lights, they are all excellently built and this one is no exception. Pretty bright with a wider throw than my previous models. Which is nice for medium throw applications. Best switch ever!
I have several SF lights and the EDCL2-T (and EDCL1-T) has the most useful switch mechanism. It's similar to the older L1 models. No need to cycle through different brightness levels - just soft press for low, and hard press for high. Twist the tail cap to reach either mode. Note that the EDCL tail caps are not compatible with other E-series lights from SF.
This light is great for running in the evening. Keep it on low for visibility to others, then hard press for the occasional coyote you may run into (not uncommon in my area). Or for the more nefarious predators that roam the night...Read full review

An awesome EDC option.
This is replacing a SF furry defender and SL protac HL for my EDC set up. The light isn’t as “bright” as I expected for having double the lumens but instead of having much of a hot spot I feel like it’s much more of a white wall at the distance the Furry and Protac were effective, I would guesstimate it illuminates 3-4x the amount of space at 80 yards. 5 lumens on the low end seems low but it seems just as useable as my other 60 lumen surefire offerings. In the end the only things I would change would be a clicky tailcap and adding the ability to stand it up on the tail cap to illuminate a room hands free. Read full review

Surefire - the best there is!
This is an excellent self defense light. Momentary-on "gas-pedal" switch is easy to use and intuitive under stress. You do need two hands to turn the tail cap for constant-on mode - as designed.
I own several Surefire lights that have accidentally gone trough the washing machine ...and the clothes dryer; they still work like new as if nothing happened. You will not find a better flashlight than a Surefire.

To start its a Surefire and it doesnt get any better. I like this better than my E2D defender ultra for two reasons. The first is the activation is nicer I like the light push for a little light and a hard push for full power. The second is that its not chewing a hole my pants since it doesnt have strike bezel around the tail cap.Read full review
