Definitely NOT air tight
The jars are, well, jars. Nothing special. Some rough spots on the glass, but not a big deal. The problem here is with the lids. They are most definitely NOT air tight. There is no rubber seal, just plastic on glass, and the clear top a is thin, poor quality clear plastic disk that can spin and move freely within its round frame--therefore, NOT air tight. The little date sliders are poor quality and difficult to move...one was actually broken right out of the box. No matter, I didn't buy these for the date sliders anyhow. I am pretty disappointed that they are not truly air tight. For $20, I guess I got what I paid for.

Overpriced for what it is, doesn't function very well
I can't believe I paid close to $50 for a toilet paper holder...and I kind of hate it. I was looking for a different style of recessed holder, and this looked like it fit the bill. First, it didn't come with any sort of bracket to hold it in place in the wall. The $10 recessed holders from Home Depot come with a bracket. I had to spend another $10 on a hunk of steel to fabricate my own bracket. Then, the roll barely fits in there...you really have to JAM it in. And since the posts that the roll rests on are not round, the roll doesn't roll very well at all. It's often incredibly difficult to pull the TP off the roll without it tearing because the roll just doesn't spin freely. Sometimes it doesn't want to spin at all, especially if the cardboard tube is out of round in the slightest. Overall, looks great, functions very poorly. DEFINITELY not worth the ultra-premium price. I may just end up going to Home Depot and getting a cheap, standard recessed holder because I'm certain it will function better.
